Making Disciples Who Make Disciples

Followers of Jesus can earn a non-accredited Certificate and Degree in Discipleship from Love In Action International Ministries. It takes a desire to know more about God’s Word, a tremendous love of our Messiah Jesus Christ, and a commitment of time. These courses are designed to transform a believer into a Great Commission Christian. Once students complete a course, they will be able to teach it to others, thereby accomplishing our Lord’s command to make disciples who make disciples. There are no fees for the courses. Students are required to purchase books.

Look below for the course of study.

Certificate in Discipleship

Students can earn a Certificate in Discipleship by completing the first four disciplines - DM2 (Disciples Making Disciple Makers), Serving, 50 Commands of Christ, and Creation to Christ.

Degree in Discipleship

Students can earn a non-accredited Degree in Discipleship by completing the entire course of study - all seven disciplines.

DM2
(Disciples Making Disciple Makers)

DM2 is designed to take believers and train them in basic discipleship in order to train Disciple Trainers (or make disciples). We teach DM2  to new and mature believers to make strong disciples who can make disciples to further strengthen the local body of believers. We also teach DM2 in other countries to make disciples who can make disciples resulting in Church Planting Movements.

Serving

An essential part of this Certificate/Degree is volunteering at Love In Action to learn how to do the following:

- Share your faith with others
- Serve the “least of these”
- Pray for others
- Baptize new believers
- Encourage other believers (iron sharpens iron)

50 Commands of Christ

Jesus tells us in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) to, “teach others to obey all I have commanded you.” We must know His commands to be able to obey them ourselves and to teach them to others. We must teach His commands to fulfill His command to make disciples, so they can teach them to others.

This study, along with DM2, thoroughly equips followers of Christ to fulfill His Great Commission and become Great Commission Christians.

Creation to Christ

Creation to Christ is a simple way to learn and present the Good News of Jesus Christ in a story format that anyone can understand, even those who have never heard of Jesus. It’s easy to learn one part at a time. And when you’ve learned them all you can tell the whole story in 15 minutes.

Creation to Christ explains how people can come to God through His Son Jesus Christ, receive new life, and find the life they were meant to have.

Systematic Theology

We take disciples through Wayne Grudem’s book, “Bible Doctrine: Essential Teachings of the Christian Faith.” Abridged from Wayne Grudem’s award-winning Systematic Theology, "Bible Doctrine" covers the same essentials of the faith, giving you a firm grasp on seven key topics: The Doctrine of the Word of God, The Doctrine of God, The Doctrine of Man, The Doctrine of Christ, The Doctrine of the Application of Redemption, The Doctrine of the Church, and The Doctrine of the Future.

Like Systematic Theology, this book is marked by its clarity, its strong scriptural emphasis, its thoroughness in scope and detail, and its treatment of such timely topics as spiritual warfare and the gifts of the Spirit. But you don’t need to have had several years of Bible school to reap the full benefits of "Bible Doctrine." It’s easy to understand, and it’s packed with solid, biblical answers to your most important questions.

Seeker Study

Teaches the meta-narrative of The Bible from Genesis through The Gospels. Its purpose is to equip the believer with a scriptural tool to use when a seeker is encountered. A “seeker” is a person who isn’t quite ready to receive Christ, but is interested in learning more about The Bible’s story of salvation.

Apologetics

This course teaches believers to intellectually defend the Christian faith against opposing beliefs. In this course, we teach from three books:

- Lee Strobel’s “The Case for Christ (an evidential apologetic book) Evidential apologetics is an approach to Christian apologetics emphasizing the use of evidence to demonstrate that God exists.

- Paul Copan’s “When God Goes to Starbucks” (a presuppositional apologetic book) Presuppositionalism is apologetics that believes the Christian faith is the only basis for rational thought. It presupposes that the Bible is divine revelation and attempts to expose flaws in other worldviews.

- Walter Martin’s “Kingdom of the Cults” (polemical apologetics) Polemics refers to defending the Christian faith against other religions and cults.

Are You Ready to Become a Great Commission Christian?

"what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also." - 2 Timothy 2:2

When all the curriculum is completed, the graduate will also receive a “Bible Baton.” Batons are used in relay races, which includes the critical task of passing the baton on to the next runner. As followers of Christ, we also have a race to run (1 Corinthians 9:24-27 and Hebrews 12:1-2). If we fail to pass the baton, although we have finished our part, the race is lost. Pass the Biblical Baton of training you’ve been handed to someone else, so this race can be finished and the whole team rewarded when Jesus returns.

We understand people have work and family schedules, so we will do our best to schedule training times that fit your schedule. We believe discipleship is too important to set a rigid schedule that people are unable to fit into their weekly activities. The key, though, is not to be too busy to fulfill our Lord's Great Commission. We must be intentional in prioritizing our time and finish our race well.
