Sharing Jesus Through Acts of Compassion

Every Tuesday and Thursday, and the first three Saturdays of each month, are filled with serving the homeless and needy at the Love In Action Ministry Center in downtown Dothan, Alabama. From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on those days, our  homeless and poor friends fill up the front of suite 6 at LIA, and our volunteers help meet their physical needs of food, clothing and hygiene items. The homeless are also able to take showers and have their laundry done by Team LIA. We also serve a hot meal to provide nourishment to our friends, who don't always have food to eat, especially a cooked meal. The homeless also receive a snack bag to take with them.

A short, encouraging message from the Word of God is given at the start of the ministry time, and we pray together as a group. Then there are a lot of individual prayer times as well as Team LIA talks with our friends one-on-one.

People are making decisions for Jesus, being encouraged and having their physical needs met. We praise God for the hundreds of lives being touched through this time of ministry.
